Privacy Policy

Tobokachi does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your cards stay on your devices and in your own iCloud.

Who is responsible

Tobokachi is developed by Jose Carlos Valenzuela Nieto (Vanitcode). For any question about privacy, write to vanitcode@icloud.com.

The app

Your content. Your goals, decks, cards, ratings, study history and sheets are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they are also stored in your private iCloud database through Apple’s CloudKit, so they can sync between your iPhone and iPad. Only you can access that data: I can’t see it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.

Text you share into Tobokachi. When you send text to Tobokachi with the Share button, it is saved in the same way as the rest of your content.

Notifications. The daily reminder is scheduled on your device. No server is involved.

PDFs and CSV files. Sheets and exports are created on your device. They only go where you decide to share them.

Ratings on the App Store. The app may ask you to rate it using Apple’s standard system. Apple handles that request and your answer.

No third parties. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting tools from other companies.

Apple’s anonymous statistics. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off at any time.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics, and its fonts are served from the site itself. It is hosted on GitHub Pages by GitHub, Inc., which may record technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to keep the service secure. See GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you email me

If you write to me, I use your email address and your message only to answer you, and I delete the conversation once it is no longer needed. You can ask me at any time to show you or delete what I have.

Children

Tobokachi does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because Tobokachi collects no personal data, there is nothing about you on my side to access, correct or delete, apart from any emails you send me. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also contact your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
